Flood Statement

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Wisconsin...Iowa...

  Mississippi River at Guttenberg Dam 10 affecting Grant and
  Clayton Counties.

  Mississippi River at McGregor affecting Crawford, Allamakee,
  Grant and Clayton Counties.

.While there was a widespread 2 to 4 inches of rainfall across parts
of southwest Wisconsin over the last 48 hours, this rainfall is not
expected to increase the magnitude of ongoing flooding across the
Mississippi. It will, however, prolong the duration of elevated
river levels.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

The next statement will be issued Tuesday afternoon at noon CDT.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL WEDNESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at Guttenberg Dam 10.

* WHEN...Until Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 15.5 feet, The water is over Marina Road.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 PM CDT Monday the stage was 15.5 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:00 PM CDT Monday was 15.9 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    early Wednesday morning and continue falling to 12.9 feet
    Monday, July 22.
  - Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mississippi River at McGregor.

* WHEN...Until early Thursday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding begins, and access
  to parks near the river in Prairie du Chien is affected.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:45 PM CDT Monday the stage was 16.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:45 PM CDT Monday was 17.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    Wednesday evening and continue falling to 13.9 feet Monday,
    July 22.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
