The areas affected include... Chesapeake Bay from New Point Comfort to Little Creek VA... James River from James River Bridge to Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel... James River from Jamestown to the James River Bridge... York River... At 453 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Cobham Bay to Burwell Bay to 13 nm southwest of James River Bridge, moving east at 30 knots. Locations impacted include... New Point Comfort, Burwell Bay, Thimble Shoals, Poquoson, Dominion Pier, Cobham Bay, Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, Coleman Bridge, Tue Marshes Light, York Spit Reef, Hampton River Inlet, James River Bridge, Hampton Flats, Monitor Merrimack Bridge Tunnel, Willoughby Bay, Sewells Point, and Little Creek.
