A weather front will be approaching the mountain from the northwest bringing snow chances for the 7000 and 14000 feet base camp. There could be accumulations up to 6 inches. Strong southwest winds will begin to strengthen Thursday afternoon around 3:00 PM. The strongest winds will be at or above 14000 feet with winds up to 50 mph being possible. The strongest winds are expected to last until 10:00 AM AKDT Friday. The 7000 foot base camp should only see winds up to 15 mph. && .FORECAST FOR 7000 FOOT BASE CAMP... Strong winds of 45-55 mph should be expected from 17000 feet to the summit Friday afternoon into Saturday. The strongest winds will likely remain away from the 7000 foot base camp.
