.DISCUSSION...

While we will have another afternoon of showers and thunderstorms,
severe weather is not expected. The main concern with any
thunderstorm activity will be lightning. The chance of precipitation
is near 40 percent. Relative humidity values will be in the 40
percent range over central South Dakota, while in the 50 percent
range elsewhere. Winds this afternoon will be out of the west to
northwest at 5 to 15 mph.

Dry weather will return this evening, with afternoon showers and
thunderstorms only over eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota
Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon. The drier air will take hold
for the rest of the week, along with a warming trend.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Monday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
