A weak ridge of high pressure will settle across the listening area through the next several days. While daytime heating will help bring afternoon to early evening showers and thunderstorms through Wednesday to portions of eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota, they are expected to be limited in coverage and intensity. Winds today will remain light out of the north to northwest 5 to 10 mph. While dewpoints will stay in the mid 50s to mid 60s, warmer air with temperatures topping out in the 80s for most locations, will result in relative humidity values that are lower than the last several days. Relative humidity values will fall to near 35 percent near and west of the Missouri River, with staying above 40 percent elsewhere. A slow warming and drying trend will continue with temperatures in the upper 80s and 90s for the end of the work week and through the upcoming weekend.
