The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Colfax County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 800 PM MDT.

* At 457 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy
  rain drifting south across the warned area. Up to 2.5 inches of
  rain have fallen over rural countryside southwest of the
  intersection of U.S. Highway 64 and State Road 193. Additional
  rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area.
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly, especially
  within Una de Gato Creek.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mainly rural areas of East Central Colfax County.

This includes Highway 64 between Mile Markers 359 and 361.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
