...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM MDT
FOR EASTERN CUSTER AND NORTHWESTERN OGLALA LAKOTA COUNTIES...

At 451 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles northeast
of Fairburn, or 22 miles east of Custer, moving east at 35 mph. Ping
pong ball sized hail and wind gusts of 60 to 65 mph were recently
reported 5 miles north-northwest of Fairburn.

HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
         damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
         considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
         mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
  Red Shirt, Fairburn, western Badlands National Park, and Folsom.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.

This storm is producing large quantities of hail. Driving through
deep hail is like driving on slushy roads. Slow down and do not brake
suddenly.
