...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 9 PM
CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 112
  expected.

* WHERE...In Arkansas, Crawford, Franklin, and Sebastian Counties.
  In Oklahoma, Muskogee, Okfuskee, Sequoyah, Mayes, Okmulgee,
  Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner, Haskell, Le Flore, McIntosh, and Pittsburg
  Counties.

* WHEN...From noon today to 9 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
  will create a dangerous situation in which heat related illnesses
  are more likely.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.

* WHEN...From noon today to 9 PM CDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses are possible especially impacting
  those not acclimated to the conditions or those performing
  strenuous activities.
