much of Eastern Oklahoma.

DISCUSSION...
Dangerous heat and humidity persist across eastern Oklahoma and
northwest Arkansas today, with heat index values expected to
exceed 110 across parts of the area again this afternoon. Heat
Advisories and Excessive Heat Warnings remain in effect for the
area.

In addition to the continued heat, isolated to scattered
thunderstorms are expected to develop mid to late afternoon and
continue into the early evening across mainly northeast Oklahoma
and northwest Arkansas. Additional overnight storms may also
develop near the Kansas border. A limited threat for damaging
winds will exist with the strongest storms.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
Local Spotter Activation May Be Needed.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.
THURSDAY...Thunderstorm and Dangerous Heat Potential.
FRIDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.
SATURDAY...No Hazards.
SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...Thunderstorm Potential.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
The dangerous heat will persist on Thursday with heat indices
again in the 105 to 110 degree range in many areas. A few strong
to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop Thursday evening
across portions of northeast Oklahoma, with marginally severe
hail and locally damaging winds the main concerns. Additional
storms are expected Thursday night into early Friday morning, as
a cold front sweeps through the remainder of southeast Oklahoma
and west central Arkansas Thursday night.

Decreased heat and humidity are expected behind the cold front on
Friday. At least low thunderstorm chances will exist through the
weekend as a series of upper level disturbances move out of the
Central Plains. There is some potential for a thunderstorm
complex to impact portions of the area Sunday night. Timing and
details will continue to be refined in the coming days.
