Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North-Central Montana
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
123 AM MDT Fri Jul 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Upper level ridging over the Northern Rockies will maintain well
above normal temperatures and overall dry conditions through the
middle of next week. Wind speeds through the middle of next week
will largely remain on the lighter side outside of shower and
thunderstorm activity; however, infrequent afternoon wind gusts of
15 to 25 mph will be possible during peak mixing hours. Isolated
to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible through the
first half of the weekend, especially over the higher terrain. By
the end of next there are signs that the upper level ridge may
begin to break down, which would result in increasing winds. -
