...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT SUNDAY...

.DISCUSSION...Hot, dry, and increasingly windy conditions will persist over
the fire area on Sunday as a disturbance moves over the region.
Winds will increase in speed out of a northwesterly direction,
with peak gusts approaching 30-35 mph over the higher elevation/
higher exposure ridges, with slopes/ drainages gusting up to 25
mph. Already poor overnight recoveries alongside minimal change in
moisture will lead to another day of relative humidity bottoming
out in the low-teens to upper-single digits. As such, a Red Flag
Warning remains in effect for the fire area through 2100.
Overnight recoveries will only be marginally better than the
previous night, with maximum values only reaching to around 25
percent. Winds lighten up heading into Monday, however, Monday
will mark the beginning of a gradual warming trend as we head
through the remainder of the week. High temperatures and dry
conditions will remain in place.

.FORECAST DAYS 3 THROUGH 7...

Temperatures will increase through the upcoming week as a long-
duration heatwave begins spreading over Utah. The most significant
warming is anticipated from Monday into Tuesday, where
temperatures will increase by about 3-5 degrees. From Tuesday
through Friday, warming by about 1-2 degrees as compared to the
previous day is anticipated. By Wednesday, temperatures will be
upwards of 15 degrees above average for this time of year. While
the heat persists, afternoon relative humidity will remain
critically dry while seeing poor overnight recoveries of 15-25
percent.

There is potential late in the week for moisture to increase
overhead over the southern half of Utah, which may bring a threat
of dry lightning and gusty outflow winds. At this time, chances
for wetting rains remain below 15 percent. That said, the one
positive here is that relative humidity will gradually increase
with this potential for moisture, however, values are still
expected to remain below 25 percent.
