...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT
ALLEGHANY COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL VIRGINIA...NORTHEASTERN CRAIG COUNTY
IN SOUTHWESTERN VIRGINIA...WESTERN ROCKBRIDGE...BATH AND BOTETOURT
COUNTIES IN WEST CENTRAL VIRGINIA...THE CITY OF COVINGTON AND THE
WESTERN CITY OF LEXINGTON THROUGH 515 PM EDT...

At 446 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Burnsville in Bath County, to near New
Castle in Craig County. Movement was southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.  Runoff from heavy rain may wash debris
         onto the highway.

Troutville...
Goshen...
and New Castle.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A torrential downpour of rain is also occurring with these storms.
This may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle
through flooded roadways.
