...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN OTERO...EAST
CENTRAL LAS ANIMAS AND SOUTHWESTERN BENT COUNTIES THROUGH 1015 PM
MDT...

At 948 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 15
miles south of Higbee, or 30 miles south of North La Junta, moving
southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Otero,
east central Las Animas and southwestern Bent Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT for
southeastern Colorado.
