Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
243 PM MDT Thu Jul 11 2024

.Discussion...

Hot temperatures will increase today and through the rest of the
weekend, forecasted to be well above normal values. Heat
Advisories will be in effect over various parts of the district
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons. Additionally, expect
isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms over the mountains
each afternoon through Sunday.

While winds will be generally weak across the district through
this weekend, some slightly stronger gusts will be possible
Saturday and Sunday over the far southeast plains. As a result,
some spotty critical fire weather conditions are expected.
Forecast confidence in these stronger winds is not currently high,
so will hold off on any fire weather highlights for now.

Our next big pattern change will come around the Tuesday-
Wednesday timeframe as a cooler airmass moves in with some
monsoonal moisture, allowing for some more widespread showers and
thunderstorms next week.

Smoke dispersions will be very good the rest of today, poor
tonight, and very good or better on Friday.
