Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
250 PM MDT Sun Jul 14 2024

.Discussion...

A deep high pressure ridge will break down and slide southward on
Monday. This feature will continue to bring hot, near record
temperatures to the area. Afternoon and evening isolated showers
and thunderstorms will remain possible on Monday with dry
lightning and downbursts possible. Dry lightning is the biggest
concern for fire weather zones 220 and 221, where a Red Flag Warning
is in effect.

Minimum relative humidity values will be in the 10-15% range
in the late morning and afternoon hours for much of the area on
Monday. A front will drop southward into the area on Tuesday,
coupled with an increase in moisture allowing for minimum
RH values to increase to the 30-40% range by mid-week. Severe weather
and flash flooding will be possible Tuesday into Tuesday night
with an active pattern of scattered showers and thunderstorms
each day Tuesday through the end of the week.

Afternoon smoke dispersions rates are expected to be good or better
for most plains locations on Monday. Rates over the high country
will vary greatly by zone. Please see specific zone details below
for more details.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
