Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
1149 AM MST Sat Jul 6 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Hot and dry conditions will persist through this weekend as high
pressure prevails over the region. Afternoon high temperatures
will reach up to 112-120F across lower desert locations. These hot
temperatures, along with low moisture content, will also result
in very low humidity. Minimum RH values will fall to or below 15%
in most locations each afternoon, with an overnight recovery
around 35-55% in most areas. Winds will be fairly light today
across the region, with wind directions following typical diurnal
trends and terrain influences. Occasional afternoon gusts to 15-20
mph are likely. There will be a slight increase in wind speeds
Sunday afternoon and evening, mainly across South-Central AZ, with
gusts up to 20-30 mph. The persistent hot and dry conditions will
keep fire danger high.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
