Multiple storms crossed the region on Tuesday, July 16. While there were several reports of wind damage across the region, there was a path of more widespread wind damage from Upper Bucks County PA into Hunterdon and Somerset Counties in NJ. .Bucks Hunterdon Somerset Thunderstorm Wind... Peak Wind /Estimated/: 80 - 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 25.0 miles Path Width /maximum/: 2000 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: Unknown Start Date: July 16, 2024 Start Time: 5:35 PM EDT Start Location: Nockamixon / Bucks County / PA Start Lat/Lon: 40.529 / -75.1408 End Date: July 16, 2024 End Time: 6:09 PM EDT End Location: 1.7 S Hillsborough Township / Somerset County / NJ End Lat/Lon: 40.4786 / -74.6714 Survey Summary: Starting in Nockamixon, PA, multiple trees were uprooted or split and at least two wooden power poles were snapped. In Hunterdon County, there were multiple trees that were downed in Franklin and Raritan Townships, including some that fell onto homes and vehicles. In Somerset County, a personal weather station recorded a gust of 61 mph in Neshanic Station and large branches were blown down. Further damage, including a few more trees snapped, continued along a path towards an area just south of Hillsborough Township.
