...A GUST FRONT OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...

  Long Island Sound East of the Mouth of the Connecticut River...
  Peconic and Gardiners Bays...

At 1142 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a gust front, capable of
producing winds to around 30 knots. This gust front was located along
a line extending from near New London Harbor to Shelter Island Sound,
moving northeast at 40 knots.

The gust front will be near...
  Stonington, Dering Harbor, Gardiners Bay, Plum Island, Shelter
  Island Sound, The Race, Niantic Bay, New London Harbor, and
  Shelter Island around 1145 PM EDT.
  Fishers Island and Fishers Island Sound around 1150 PM EDT.
  Western Block Island Sound around 1200 AM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

This gust front will likely produce winds to around 30 knots, and
could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine warning may
eventually be required when this gust front reach the nearshore
waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before this gust
front arrive.
