The thunderstorms have moved out of the warned area and no longer
pose a significant threat to boaters.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
southern Connecticut...and southeastern New York.

...A SPECIAL MARINE WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT...

For the following areas...
Long Island Sound East of New Haven CT/Port Jefferson NY to the Mouth
of the Connecticut River...

At 617 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near The Thimbles to near Central Long Island Sound to
near Herod Point, moving east at 30 knots.

HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
         suddenly higher waves.

  Central Long Island Sound, Falkner Island, and Madison Reef around
  620 PM EDT.
  Mattituck Inlet and Six Mile Reef around 630 PM EDT.
  Horton Point around 635 PM EDT.
  Westbrook Center around 645 PM EDT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, high waves, lightning, and heavy rain
are expected with these storms. If caught on the open water stay
below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded metal objects.
