...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following
  counties, Fairfield, Middlesex, New Haven and New London,
  northeast New Jersey, including the following counties, Bergen and
  Passaic, and southeast New York, including the following counties,
  Orange, Rockland and Westchester.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 258 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Bridgeport, New Haven, Stamford, Norwalk, White Plains,
    Milford, Wallingford, Norwich, Shelton, New City, New London,
    West Milford, Ossining, Guilford, New Canaan, Monsey, Nanuet,
    Ramsey, Clinton and Ringwood.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
