...FLOOD ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

The Flood Advisory is cancelled for portions of southern
Connecticut, including the following areas, Fairfield, Middlesex and
New Haven, northeast New Jersey, including the following areas,
Bergen and Passaic, and southeast New York, including the following
areas, Orange, Rockland and Westchester.

Urban and small stream flooding is no longer expected to pose a
threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.

...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of southern Connecticut, including the following
  county, New London.

* WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 532 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    New London, Groton, Mystic, Waterford, East Lyme, Ledyard,
    Old Lyme, Preston, Gales Ferry, Ledyard Center, Montville,
    North Stonington, Niantic and Pawcatuck.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
