...Hot and Dry Weather the next 10 Days...

...Excessive Heat Warnings and Advisories Tuesday-Friday...

.DISCUSSION...Welcome to Summer folks.

Strong High Pressure over the west coast will expand or amplify
across the entire western U.S. this week. This will result in a
prolonged hot and dry streak lasting the through at least July
16th. The Climate Prediction Center is showing a high likelihood
(over 90% chance) of these above normal temperatures and dry
conditions persisting through July 20th.

Through next weekend, High temperatures at least in the mid 90s
will be common across western Montana and at least 100 degrees
across the valleys of central Idaho.

The hottest days will be Tuesday-Thursday, thus the Excessive Heat
Warnings and Advisories.

Specifically High Temperatures:

- Central Idaho Valleys...105-112 degrees.
- Western Montana...Upper 90s to 104 degrees.
- Southwest Montana...Mid 90s.

Looks like some monsoonal moisture will try and sneak its way
into Southwest Montana and Lemhi County Sunday/Monday but there is
too much uncertainty to discern what kind of impact this change
may have, if any.
