FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
452 AM EDT Sun Jul 21 2024

...Dry for all through Monday morning, Monday PM showers west...

.DISCUSSION:

High pressure over the region will keep precipitation out of the
forecast until Monday afternoon. Light winds are expected with lake
breezes expected off of the Great Lakes both today and Monday. For
today, with efficient mixing and radiational heating under clear
skies, minimum RHs fall to near 30 in the interior west and the
mid-30s to mid-40s for the remainder of the UP. As a low pressure
approaches from the north Monday afternoon, showers are expected
for the west half of the UP with a 15-30% chance of lightning with
those showers. The increased moisture will keep minimum RHs higher
on Monday, only falling to the 40s and 50s in the west and upper 30s
in the east.
