Isolated storms will be possible across the local Atlantic waters late tonight into early Monday morning. Any storms that develop may be capable of producing lightning strikes, gusty winds, and heavy downpours. .RIP CURRENT AND SURF IMPACT... A High Risk of strong, life-threatening rip currents continues at Volusia, Brevard, and Indian River beaches overnight. A Moderate Risk continues at St. Lucie and Martin county beaches. Entering the ocean at night is strongly discouraged! .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. Above normal temperatures and humid conditions will continue into early next week. Peak heat index values of 102 to 107 degrees will be common into early next week, but may approach 108 to 110 degrees on Monday. This stretch of heat will prolong the risk for heat- related illness. Residents and visitors planning to be outdoors are encouraged to practice heat safety by taking frequent breaks in air- conditioned or shaded spaces and staying well-hydrated. Shower and lightning storm coverage will increase areawide Monday through much of the upcoming week. Occasional to frequent lightning strikes, gusty winds, and heavy rainfall will accompany the most organized activity.
