...New UPDATE...

.UPDATE...
Issued at 927 AM EDT Fri Jul 5 2024

Hot conditions today, with a Heat Advisory set to go into effect
from Noon to 6pm today across much of the interior. In the
Advisory area, heat indices are forecast up to 110 degrees.
Elsewhere, peak heat indices 105-107 degrees. Use caution if
spending time outdoors today. Be sure to stay hydrated and take
frequent breaks, preferably in an air conditioned space. High
temperatures are forecast in the lower to mid-90s.

Some relief may come in the mid to late afternoon, with scattered
showers and storms developing along the sea breeze collision. A
slightly dominate east coast sea breeze will lead to a collision
on the west-central area of the peninsula, however PoPs forecast
around 30-50% over interior portions of the forecast area. Made a
slight adjustment during the update this morning to decrease PoPs
to 20% or less along the coast east of I-95. The main threats with
any storms today will be gusty winds up to 45 mph, frequent lightning
strikes, and locally heavy rain that could lead to minor, nuisance
flooding. Activity should persist through around sunset before
diminishing.
