Routine Fire Wx Fcst (With/Without 6-10 Day Outlook)
Issued by NWS Medford, OR
Issued by NWS Medford, OR
657 FNUS56 KMFR 082127 FWFMFR Fire Weather Forecast for southern Oregon and northern California National Weather Service Medford, OR 227 PM PDT Mon Jul 8 2024 ...Elevated to critical fire weather conditions possible this week... .DISCUSSION...Above normal temperatures, low humidity values, and breezy winds will result in elevated to critical fire weather conditions all week. Temperatures will be highest west of the Cascades early this week with many areas at or near triple digits. A slight cooling by mid-week will bring some relief, but the reality is we are still hot and dry all this week. Wind speeds are expected to trend slightly stronger beginning Tuesday, especially on the east side. Critical fire weather conditions look possible as early as Thursday. The one wildcard is the thunderstorm potential this weekend, but at this time the probability for thunder is roughly 5-10%.
