The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Nelson County in central Virginia...
  West central Albemarle County in central Virginia...

* Until 745 PM EDT.

* At 708 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Afton,
  moving east at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Emergency management has reported wind damage from this
           thunderstorm in eastern Augusta County.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Crozet, Afton, Ivy, Greenwood, North Garden, Batesville, Yancey
  Mills, and Flordon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service
