...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PDT SATURDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
Very hot and dry conditions will persist at the Poppy Fire location until
around sunset. Humidities will gradually rise above 20 percent during the
mid-evening hours, but recoveries are expected to be poor, near 35 percent.
Gusty southwest winds will become light and terrain-driven in the late
evening and overnight. Conditions on Thursday are expected to worsen, with
temperatures a few degrees warmer, and humidities dropping slightly. There
is a 20 percent chance of upper single digit humidities on Thursday, but
lower teens are more likely. Winds will be light through around 1100 hours,
then increasing and becoming gusty from the southwest (westerly through
Soledad Canyon) in the afternoon.

Sky/weather.........Clear (0-10 percent).
Min temperature.....100-103 through 1900, lowering to 76-78 by midnight.
                    Min 68-70 after 0500.
Max humidity........16-20 percent through 1900. Max 32-36 percent.
Eye level winds.....West winds 3 to 5 mph with gusts to 8 mph through
                    2300, then becoming variable up to 3 mph.
Ridgetop wind.......Southwest winds 8 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph
                    becoming west 6 to 9 mph overnight.
Mixing height.......96,000 ft AGL in the evening, lowering to AOB
                    1000 ft AGL overnight.
Transport winds.....Southwest 10 to 12 mph becoming variable up to 3 mph
                    overnight.

.THURSDAY...

Sky/weather.........Sunny (0-10 percent).
Max temperature.....104-107.
Min humidity........10-14 percent.
Eye level winds.....Variable winds up to 3 mph becoming southwest 6 to 8
                    mph with gusts to 12 mph in the afternoon.
Ridgetop wind.......East winds 3 to 6 mph becoming southwest 12 to 15 mph
                    with gusts to 25 mph in the afternoon.
Mixing height.......AOB 1000 ft AGL increasing to 11500 ft AGL in the
