239 FZUS61 KBUF 041445 GLFLO Open Lake Forecast for Lake Ontario National Weather Service Buffalo NY 1045 AM EDT Thu Jul 4 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Ontario Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A cold front extending from a 29.4 inch low near Hudson Bay will cross the lake this morning, stalling near the New York and Pennsylvania State Line this afternoon and tonight and gradually fade. A 29.8 inch low and cold front extending southward from it will then cross the lake Saturday. High pressure of 30.0 inches centered over the Mid-Atlantic will extend northward over the lake Sunday. This surface high will then shift east of the Lake Monday.
