.SYNOPSIS...
A heat wave will slowly spread eastward across Northern and
Central Nevada Saturday through Tuesday. By Tuesday afternoon,
high temperatures will be around ten degrees above normal for this
time of year. Triple digit heat is possible in Elko Tuesday
afternoon for the first time this calender year. Dry weather will
persist for at least the next seven days.

.SHORT TERM...Tonight through Saturday night
A large area of high pressure will be centered over Northern
California tonight through Saturday night. An Excessive Heat
Warning is in effect for Humboldt County, starting at 10 AM PDT
Saturday morning. High temperatures in Humboldt County Saturday
afternoon will range from 98 to 103 degrees in the valleys. This
will result in a major weather risk for heat-related illnesses,
especially for those without effective cooling. Take precautions
by staying out of the sun, limiting outdoor activities, and
drinking plenty of water. This heat will slowly spread eastward
along with the aforementioned area of high pressure late this
weekend into early next week.

.LONG TERM...Sunday through next Friday
A strong ridge of high pressure will influence the CWA, bringing
hot and dry weather for much of next week. Winds will generally
remain light, though afternoon gusts to 20 mph are possible. In
addition, even stronger gusts of 30 to 35 mph are possible Sunday
afternoon and evening. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 90s to
low 100s across the area though higher elevation sites will see
highs in the mid to upper 90s. The heat watches and warnings will
likely continue through most of the long term period.

.AVIATION...
VFR conditions expected for the next 24 hours at all terminals.
Breezy WNW winds this afternoon around 10-12 knots with gusts to

hold tonight.

Breezy winds from the WNW expected to affect all TAF sites
Saturday afternoon and evening, increasing to 10-15 knots with
gusts to 20-25 knots. Temperatures will continue to remain quite
warm over the TAF sites, leading to increasing density altitudes
particularly over the weekend and into early next week.

Saturday morning until 8 PM PDT Saturday evening for sustained
northwest winds 15 to 20 mph, with gusts near 30 mph and relative
