...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN LAFAYETTE...
NORTHWESTERN ST. MARTIN AND SOUTHEASTERN ST. LANDRY PARISHES THROUGH
1230 PM CDT...

At 1205 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Lafayette, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
         objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Lafayette, Catahoula, Breaux Bridge, Carencro, Krotz Springs,
Arnaudville, Broussard, Henderson, Butte La Rose, Cecilia,
Atchafalaya National Wildlife Refuge, Atchafalaya Welcome Center, and
Parks.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 103 and 126.
 Interstate 49 between mile markers 1 and 4.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
