...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN LAFAYETTE AND
NORTHWESTERN ST. MARTIN PARISHES THROUGH 430 PM CDT...

At 357 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Breaux Bridge, moving east at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Lafayette, Breaux Bridge, Carencro, Broussard, Henderson, Cecilia,
and Parks.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 103 and 117.
 Interstate 49 between mile markers 1 and 4.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
