The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Avoyelles Parish in central Louisiana...
  Central Rapides Parish in central Louisiana...

* Until 1230 AM CDT.

* At 921 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have produced
  heavy rain with 2 to 4 inches already fallen in the area and
  another inch or two is possible. Flash flooding is ongoing or
  expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Alexandria, Pineville, Glenmora, Effie, Lecompte, Kolin, Poland,
  Ruby, Echo, Kingsville, Libuse, Centerpoint, Deville, Woodworth,
  Forest Hill and Mcnary.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
