...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN LINCOLN AND
SOUTHEASTERN MCPHERSON COUNTIES THROUGH 1045 AM CDT...

At 1007 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles north of Sutherland, or 19 miles southwest of Tryon, moving
east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern
Lincoln and southeastern McPherson Counties.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 97 between mile markers 1 and 20.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 88 and 91.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
