Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
236 PM CDT Wed Jul 3 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain low in the extended forecast.

Scattered to widespread rain and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon
through Thursday morning will likely contain moderate to heavy
rain amounts with locations north of Highway 2 potentially seeing
up to two inches and areas to the south closer to one inch.
Another round of rain and thunderstorms will arrive this weekend,
mainly Saturday into early Sunday but confidence in wetting rains
is low at this time.

Drier weather arrives next week as temperatures look to moderate
through Wednesday. Below normal temperatures are forecast for the
first half of the week but a return to above normal values appears
probable beyond Day 7 with potential for increasing fire weather
concerns.
