Fair vent rates today will worsen tomorrow with widespread cloud cover and rain as the remnants of hurricane Beryl lift northeast into the region. Widespread half inch or greater rainfall amounts are forecast southeast of I-55 with this system, while a narrow band of heavier totals surpassing 3 inches is expected somewhere southeast of a Litchfield to Danville line. Behind this system, vent rates will improve a bit as northerly transport winds increase to 20 kt or higher southeast of I-55 Wednesday afternoon, although mixing heights will be slow to recover.
