A smattering of showers and a few thunderstorms impacted portions of
central and eastern Kansas this afternoon, as a weak weather system
approached from the northwest. Southerly winds supported warmer and
more humid conditions, with late afternoon temperatures in the 70s
and 80s across the state.

Chances for scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will
increase across the state tonight. Thinking chances will be highest
over generally the eastern half of Kansas. The strongest activity
will be capable of pea to dime size hail and locally heavy rainfall.
Forecast low temperatures range from near 60 degrees over northwest
Kansas, to near 70 over the southeast quarter of Kansas.

Morning showers and thunderstorms are possible over primarily
eastern Kansas Monday. Otherwise, mostly dry and warmer weather will
prevail, with forecast high temperatures in the 80s and 90s.
Increasing humidity will support afternoon heat indices in the low
100s over southern Kansas.
