.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 302 AM CDT Fri Jul 5 2024

A stable post-frontal regime is anticipated across the area today.
Much drier air will advect southward with afternoon dewpoint
temperatures in the 50s for many areas. Below normal temperatures
will prevail with highs in the mid and upper 80s.

Sat-Sun...A shortwave trough will bring a chance of storms back to
central KS on Saturday but low level moisture will be slow to
recover with the quality low level moisture remaining well south of
the region. Storm coverage is expected to be higher just west of our
area although some low pops were maintained with increasing
probabilities arriving Sat night into Sunday as a mean mid/upper
trough remains situated over the Central and Northern Plains. Deep
layer shear around 50 kts may support some storm organization late
Sat, especially west of I-135 Sat evening/night. Locally heavy rain
could develop on Sunday as PWATs climb to around 2 inches over
southern Kansas.

Mon-Thu...Unsettled weather may linger into early next week,
especially across eastern Kansas as a pv anomaly pivots over the
area. We continue to see support for slightly below normal
temperatures through much of the period as a mean trough remains
situated over the central CONUS and the subtropical ridge
remains west over the Central Great Basin area.
