...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN LAURENS...EASTERN
ABBEVILLE AND GREENWOOD COUNTIES THROUGH 715 PM EDT...
At 629 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 3 miles northeast of Greenwood to 19 miles
southeast of Abbeville. Movement was west at 10 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Greenwood, Abbeville, Ware Shoals, Ninety Six, Cross Hill, Donalds,
Cokesbury, Waterloo, Hodges, and Troy.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
