Thunderstorms are forecast to increase across the area this afternoon from northwest to southeast, with some of them becoming strong to possibly severe. If a severe storm is realized, wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph will be the primary concern...with a few storms also capable of producing hail to the size of quarters. The greatest risk for severe storms currently looks to remain mainly west and southwest of the Tri-Cities, with decreasing chances to the east and northeast. Additional non-severe, isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible off and on overnight. In addition, pockets of heavy rainfall ranging from 1 to 2 inches could result in localized minor flooding. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday. Periodic...primarily non-severe...small chances for thunderstorms will be possible across the local area this weekend and continuing through Tuesday of next week.
