...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTH CENTRAL GRANT AND EAST
CENTRAL HIDALGO COUNTIES THROUGH 930 PM MDT...
At 858 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles east of Hachita, moving west at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Hachita, Playas, Windmill, Hachita Valley, Playas Valley, and Big
Hatchet Refuge.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
