...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of Henry, northwestern
Des Moines, northeastern Van Buren, northwestern Lee, south central
Louisa and east central Jefferson Counties through 1000 PM CDT...

At 912 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Mount Union, or 7 miles northeast of Mount Pleasant, moving east at
25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow
         around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects
         is possible.

Mount Pleasant, Wapello, New London, Mediapolis, Winfield, Danville,
Morning Sun, Salem, Hillsboro, Rome, Westwood, Mount Union, Amber,
Henry County Fairgrounds, Oakland Mills, Big Hollow Recreation Area,
Pleasant Grove, Virginia Grove Recreation Area, Oakland Mills Park,
and Mount Pleasant Municipal Arpt.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Stay away from
flooded areas. Report any flooding to local law enforcement.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
southeastern Iowa.
