...A SMALL LINE OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT BEAUFORT...
COLLETON AND CHARLESTON COUNTIES UNTIL 4 PM EDT...

At 315 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a small line of strong
thunderstorms near Bennetts Point, and is nearly stationary.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Edisto Beach, Bennetts Point, Coffin Point, Wiggins, Eddings
  Point, Coosaw Island, Chisolm Point, Dataw Island, Sams Point and
  Daniels.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations
and available television stations for additional information and
possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Beaches are especially dangerous during thunderstorms because
lightning will usually strike the tallest object in the vicinity.
Move off beaches and get in a sturdy structure or automobile
immediately. Many people have been killed by lightning on beaches in
the southeastern United States.
