Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
207 PM EDT Mon Jul 8 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Not much change to the overall large scale pattern with upper
ridging anchored over the Southeastern US and moist flow around
surface high pressure located east of Bermuda. Conditions will
remain favorable for the development of scattered showers and
thunderstorms each afternoon and evening with heavy rainfall as
the primary threat. In addition, the moist environment will be
favorable for the development of low clouds and/or patchy fog
during the early morning hours, especially in locations that see
rainfall the day before.

Fog potential for tonight: Possible
