SOUTHWESTERN CUSTER...WESTERN POWDER RIVER...SOUTHERN ROSEBUD AND NORTHEASTERN SHERIDAN COUNTIES THROUGH 315 PM MDT... At 246 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 10 miles east of Colstrip to 22 miles south of Lame Deer to near Dayton. Movement was southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. Numerous gusts to near 50 mph have occurred along this line. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Sheridan, Colstrip, Ranchester, Dayton, Lame Deer, Ashland, Big Horn, Birney, Parkman, Tongue River Reservoir, Birney Village, Otter, Brandenberg, Rosebud Battlefield Park, and Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. If on or near Tongue River Reservoir, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now!
