Isolated thunderstorms will impact areas mainly close to the mountains and foothills late this afternoon and evening. A few storms could produce gusty winds. A weak upper level disturbance will bring a greater risk of afternoon and evening thunderstorms (and elevated lightning activity) on Thursday. Storms will be wet but may produce erratic wind gusts as well as localized heavy rain. Thursday will be the hottest and driest day for the remainder of the week. Look for a shift to northerly flow aloft, slight cooling and seasonably elevated humidities (>20%) Friday through the weekend.
