The short term will see a drying trend with warming temperatures as upper ridging from the west starts to slide east. This will lead to quiet weather with temperatures reaching into the low 80s in the east to upper 80s across much of the rest of the region tomorrow. Heights will continue to climb Tuesday with high 80s to low 90s across the region. Tonight and tomorrow night will see low temperatures in the 50s with lows creeping closer to 60 or above for Tuesday night. There are currently no fire concerns in the short term before our warmup. Torgerson Wednesday through Sunday... Confidence is high that upper level ridging will prevail through the extended forecast period, creating very warm to hot and dry conditions. By Friday and into the weekend, the pattern is expected to become more favorable (southerly monsoon type pattern) for mid level moisture to move in, leading to a low chance (<25%) of precipitation, mainly for the mountains. High temperatures are still expected to gradually increase into midweek, from low to mid 90s Wednesday to upper 90s to around 102 degrees Thursday. Currently, for locations along river valleys in the plains, there is a 50-90% chance of exceeding 100 Thursday. Then, highs are likely to remain elevated Friday and Saturday, with a 40-60% chance of exceeding 100 each day over the same locations. By Sunday, with a more notable return of moisture to the region, highs should decrease slightly with readings in the lower to mid 90s. BT && .AVIATION... Expect isolated showers, mainly east of KBIL and over our southern mountains (Pryors/Big Horns) through early evening. A few weak thunderstorms are possible, but confidence for a storm to impact any particular TAF site is quite low (<10%). VFR will prevail over the next 24 hours as we begin to see high pressure build from the west tonight. BT && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMP/POPS...
