The areas affected include... Chesapeake Bay from Smith Point to Windmill Point VA... Chesapeake Bay from Windmill Point to New Point Comfort VA... Rappahannock River from Urbanna to Windmill Point... At 623 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 nm south of Yeocomico River to 7 nm northwest of Irvington to 7 nm southwest of Urbanna Inlet, moving east at 25 knots. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher waves, and lightning strikes.
