...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CHAVES COUNTY
THROUGH 1100 PM MDT...

At 1024 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southwest of Elkins, or 28 miles northeast of Roswell, moving
south at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Elkins.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor your preferred
media outlets and NOAA Weather Radio for additional information and
possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on highways as storms move through the area.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT for
southeastern New Mexico.
