...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM MDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR NORTH CENTRAL SOCORRO COUNTY...

At 434 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms have ended
across the warned area. Up to 2.25 inches of rain fell over parts of
the area earlier this afternoon. The heaviest rainfall impacted San
Acacia. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  San Acacia, Lemitar, La Joya and Chamizal.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 60 between Mile Markers 122 and 124.
Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 153 and 172.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.
